Our Start
Brian J. Kornblatt, MD, FACEP
President & Chief Executive Officer
Georgia Emergency Associates was founded in 1994 by Dr. Brian J. Kornblatt, MD, FACEP, to provide emergency physician services at Candler General Hospital in Savannah and eventually at St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospitals, East Georgia Regional Hospital in Stateboro, Georgia and Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick and St. Mary’s Georgia, Georgia. Today Dr. Kornblatt serves as President and Chief Executive Officer or Georgia Emergency Associates Immediate Care Centers (GEAICC).
GEA partnered with St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System in July 2001 and opened its first St. Joseph’s/Candler Immediate Care Center in Savannah, Georgia to provide non-hospital based urgent care. Today GEAICC operates St. Joseph’s/Candler Immediate Care clinics in Georgia — in Savannah, Pooler, Hinesville, Rincon — and also in Bluffton, South Carolina. It also operates South Georgia Immediate Care Center in Statesboro, Georgia.
